AJT – 6 days, 5 nights Zacambu Lodge and Tupana Arü Ü Nature Reserve USD $647 per person

Days 1, 2, and 3

Same as those of the five-day tour.

Day 4

We will leave the Zacambu Rainforest Lodge and head toward the mighty Amazon River, adventuring through the flooded jungle for a distance of approximately 130 km (37 miles). We will arrive on Colombian soil, where the Reserva Natural Tupana Arü Ü is located. The lodge is built in the middle of a classic tropical rainforest setting. You will be greeted and briefed by our staff and shown to your room. Lunch will be followed by an outing to interact with the local indigenous people, observing their way of life and the customs of the jungle. After supper, our evening activity will begin by exploring trails through the surrounding forest. This unforgettable experience includes the discovery of glowing plants and listening to eerie jungle sounds, all in intimate contact with the environment.

Day 5

The morning will be unscheduled, with time to take pictures and prepare for the trip into the jungle. After lunch, we will strike out on a forest pathway for several hours into the heart of the jungle. When we reach a suitable spot, we will set up camp, including hammocks and mosquito nets. We will then explore the surroundings in a survival-style adventure, with the incredible sounds of nocturnal creatures filling our ears.

Day 6

In the morning, we will return to the lodge and eat breakfast, followed with some time to relax. After lunch, we will go out to the bank of the Amazon River to visit a friendly Yagua community and to learn about their customs and culture. We will then return to Leticia.
